Allen Waters is a lifelong resident of central Arkansas. He attended public schools in
Little Rock growing up and graduated from Hall High school in 1979.
Allen attended Hendrix College from 1979 to 1983 and graduated with a BA in Psychology. From there, he went to law school at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Bowen School of Law, and graduated in December, 1987.
During law school, Allen worked as a deputy clerk in the Supreme Court Clerk's office, took and passed the February Bar exam in 1988, and was conferred his law license on March 23, 1988.
Subsequent to passing the Bar and receiving his law license, Allen had the unique
experience of serving as Justice Darrell Hickman's law clerk at the time that Justice
Hickman was the senior member of the Arkansas Supreme Court.
Allen has twenty eight years of legal experience, with over twenty years of that time
practicing law in Conway, Arkansas. Allen is a member of the Arkansas Bar, the Faulkner County Bar Association, and is licensed to practice in all courts in Arkansas, State and Federal.
In his practice, Allen handles domestic relations (divorce, custody, domestic abuse
defense), Chapter 7 bankruptcy (and bankruptcy in connection with divorce), criminal
matters (DWI, misdemeanors and felonies, sealing records of convictions) guardianship and civil matters. Allen handles administrative appeals from an individual's entry into a state child maltreatment registry. He has also handled a number of appeals to the Arkansas Court of Appeals and Supreme Court with successful outcomes.
Allen is a trained mediator, although he has not completed requirements for being
certified as a mediator by the Arkansas Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee.
Allen and his wife Rachele have been blessed with each others companionship for 35
years. They enjoy outdoor activities and recreational shooting together.
